This fall, Mount Saint Vincent University will be offering a new microcredential series, Ready to Lead (or R2L).
The R2L microcredential series has been designed for experienced frontline continuing care assistants (CCAs), residential care workers (RCWs) and licensed practical nurses (LPNs) to help them prepare for leadership roles in continuing care. The R2L program consists of 80 hours of professional development delivered over 32 weeks, meaning a commitment of just 2 to 3 hours per week.
Through a generous grant from the Nova Scotia Department of Labour, Skills and Immigration, registration and participation in R2L will be offered at no cost to participants. To register, participants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Have a minimum of 3 years of domestic and/or international frontline experience in continuing care or a related health care field or disability support service
- Be currently employed in a frontline continuing care, residential care, home care, long term care or similar role in Nova Scotia
- Be in good standing with their relevant college, professional regulatory body, or provincial committee (where applicable)
- Be endorsed by the participant’s current employer, such as their immediate supervisor or a senior leader in the organization
- Be able to participate fully in the program, including scheduled live online meetings, completing occasional collaborative projects, and regular self-study activities
Applications for 20 fully funded seats in the fall 2024 session are open now on the Ready to Lead website. For more information, please visit the website or contact microcredentials@msvu.ca.
